Common Causes of Flat Tires
- Nails, screws and other debris picked up from roads and construction areas.
- Hitting a pothole or curb hard enough to damage the tire or rim.
- Valve stem failure, especially on older vehicles.
- Bead leaks from rim corrosion, common after road-salt seasons.
- Long-term underinflation that weakens the tire.
Signs of Tire Damage
Look for visible objects in the tread, bulges on the sidewall, cuts, or a tire that looks lower than the others. A pulling sensation while driving or a thumping noise are also signs to stop and check when it is safe.
What a Flat Tire Inspection Covers
The tire is checked externally for the source of air loss and then, where needed, removed from the rim so the inner liner can be inspected. Driving on a flat can crush the sidewall from the inside, damage that is not visible from the outside.
Repair vs. Replacement
Small tread punctures may be repairable. Sidewall damage, large holes, or internal damage from being driven flat usually mean replacement is needed. We will explain the outcome of the inspection in plain language.
What to Do When You Get a Flat
Your safety comes first:
- Slow down gradually and pull over to a safe area away from traffic.
- Turn on your hazard lights and apply the parking brake.
- Avoid driving further on the flat — it can damage the rim.
- If you are in an unsafe spot, contact emergency services or a towing provider first.
- When you are safe, call us or submit a service request.
Flat Tire Service That Comes to You
Because a flat tire often leaves the vehicle undriveable, mobile service avoids the need to tow it to a shop for a simple fix. If you have a usable spare, our Spare Tire Change service may also help.
What to Prepare Before Booking
- Exact location of the vehicle and whether it is safely parked.
